Get any WIld Arms game for it. I spent way over 100 hrs on Wild Arms 3 alone. Dark Cloud 1 & 2 were also extremly long games. Star Ocean isn't all that long, it took me around 40hrs to complete the storyline and the gameplay was mainly button mashing.

From what I played of it (Roughly 12 hours.), Wild Arms 3 is an excellent game with a good story. I'm still confused about Jet's age though.....

40 hours is about as long as the Tales games so that's definetly long enough for me. Especially since I'll probably be getting Star Ocean & Tales of Legendia.
if you havent played dq8 yet, do it now! the main story is very long on its own. however, there are lots of sidequests. also, getting lvled takes a while as well.

I'm playing that now, but the story seems childish and plain. Does it get better?

i dunno where you are in the story, but it gets a little darker as it goes(its still not a very dark game overall). dhoulmagus is probably the darkest of the characters, so if you havent seen much of him yet, then be patient. and imo the plot isnt plain at all. its much better than the typical ff/tales/zelda plot(travel to each dungeon, each with its own element).
here are a few that i still play bcuz of the amount of hours
Xenosaga 1- 70 hours long (i have 40 so far)
Tales of legendia -70 hours (i currenty have 67 hours played so far)
FFXII- you can beat it in about 50 or so, but the side quests add a huge amount of extra gameplay ( i currently have 55 hours in so far, i havent beaten it yet but really close to the end)
The main game in DQ8 is very long (about 80 hours). Star Ocean 3 is another good choice...you get three extra dungeons, multiple difficulty settings, and Battle Trophies. If you can find it, definitely get Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. You'll spend tons of hours just developing your party. Plus, there are two sides to the story, and there's a new game+, so there's a lot of replay value. Valkyrie Profile 2 is average length, but the extra dungeon adds much more hours. It's a really fun game, so you should play it regardless of length. :)
