Stay in first person mode as much as you can if you're playing the original and not Subsistence.
It really doesn't pay to be sneaky unless you know EXACTLY where he his and you can sneak up on him so run around and try to attract his attention. When you are shot at, hit the deck and search for him. You have a few minutes before he gets up and leaves so you have time.
If you still want to absolutely want to give up on beating him, you can save the game and turn the console off and set the internal clock for the PS2 about 3 weeks ahead and he will die of old age.
In addition to G45mbi3's post, you can use the D-mic to heaar him. Dont stay in first person view for too long though, coz he can sneak up on you.rohver
lol thats funny because i was just playing it about an hour ago and my brother was watching. i was looking around in first person and as soon as i turned back to the position i started from he was there and he blurted something out and shot me. that scared the crap out of both of us lol
The clock in your PS2 kills The End, so if you set it one week ahead, next time you load the game, The End will be dead and everybody will mock Snake for being so lame.
use thrmal googles. he is usually on the right side. just look and u can see his sniper. always move and when it rains he falls a sleep. man, so many memorys on that game. I haven't played that game for evers. I got it for $5 at a blockbuster right before christmas with kingdom hearts 2. I never thought it would be so good. after I beat Kingdom hearts 2 I still wanted to play so I put MGS3 and beat. I was really pro at that game. the bosses were so memoriable.and the last boss(snakes mentor) was so irritating so I just RPGed her then hand to hand combat(she can be a real pain in the arse)

Yes you can but when you get to the part where you fight the End, you'll have to deal with lots of Ocellot's commandos. I'd rather fight the End flawlessly and get it over with but thats just me.
