MGS3- Maybe the best PS2 game i have played so far

I am a big MGS fan. I mean, I am willing to buy a ps3 just because of MGS 4. That was also the reason for me to get a ps2. Although... Raiden as a main character did shocked me and I was very annoyed with it but that was then. :P

MGS 3 is great. A masterpiece. I have completed about 20 times! Great Visuals, great game-play and great story. I'll give it 9.8 out of 10. :D

Great things to look forward to in MGS 4.

Oh... by the way... You really got to play MGS 1 as well.

:) Yeah MGS3 is my favourite PS2 game as well, The game looks and plays awesome plus it has the best story line of any game, I also just recently beat European Extreme which was well hard but I did it.

I am buying PS3 just because of MGS4 :D

oh and if you dislike the camera in MGS3 then you should by the subsistance version which has online play plus a new camera system which you can control.

Not a popular opinion but I would give MGS3 A 6. Pretty much hated everything about the game but still it's hard to deny the amount of work that went into the production values, sound, graphics, Cinematics are all top notch but.... still I had no fun with it at all. I like another stealth video game hero who will not be named in this forum.

Top of the Crop of Ps2 in my opinion....

Final Fantasy X was the best game of the last gen.

God Hand was my favoirte Action Game

Devil May Cry 3 was also a really good game.

I always thought most people who like MGS series got into it much earlier. I started at three and could not understand why everybody loved it so much. I guess it's a lot like other franchises... Zelda is a real good example I started with Wind Waker and thought the game play felt realy dated, most Zelda fans will argue that it's not dated it's timeless. Same with MGS, the camera, and the movements of snake just felt like they came from a much older game, I'm guessing most MGS fans would say that it MGS it's suppose to look and feel this way but I just couldn't get into it.

i see what you're saying, with many game series,you gotta be a fan formt he start to appreciate the gameplay. like if mgs3 was my first metal gear game,i'd be like,wtf is up witht he controls and the camera,but since ive been playin since the ps1 game,im used to it. its just like ppl complaining about the resident evil controls. im sure the fans of that series have gotten well used to it by now.

MGS games, according to my ranking:

1) Metal Gear Solid

2) Metal Gear Solid 3

3) Metal Gear Solid 2

So you should definitely check out the original MGS on the PS1 after you finish MGS3.

I only got my PS2 in late 2005 and i have to say, from the few games compared to everyone else that i have played, MGS3 is better than all of them. FFX was great and so was MGS2, but other than those 2 no PS2 games that i have played stand up to MGS3. I'm only up to the part on the summit after beatin The End but this game has been prety awesome. My only complaint would be the camera angles, i can't see the enemy sometimes, especially when my radar has no batteries, its not that fun. But, aside from that there are some really nice characters and the same goodness from MGS2. I think this will definitely surpass MGS2 in my book, especially since now you actually use Snake. I just love the MGS series in general now, this is my second MGS game, and i just love the story.

So what was your experience with MGS3 like out of ten?? Right now it's 9.5/10 for me.

although your post is for the most part impossible to understand, I think you are complaining about the static camera. If this is a problem for you, you can always play subsistence with the over the shoulder camera...

i have subsistence but again cameras are very hard to control you cant walk while in shoter mode

yup, dis s definitely d greatest among ps2 games,,i got every cd of metal gear games namely mgs1,twin snakes,substance,sons of liberty,snake eater and substinence... and definitely im going 2 buy dat mgs4 in 2008... but a tiny problem though, i dnt have a ps3 and its a sky high price... can any1 tell me wer i can sell one of my kidneys???

It could but is not.

The Camera could be annoying at times and to me it was too short.

But I can tell you that the other MGS...Subsistence? That one is better, they fixed the camera and has a lot of extra stuff.

I enjoyed 2 morethan 3. Still,3is amazing.

MGS2 score: 9.9

MGS3 score:9.8

Yeah, and I'm pretty sure Subsistence costs the same as snake eater.

Last Time I checked(This Month) I saw Snake Eater $10 and subsistence for $30...Florida/USA so It may be different somewhere else.

Umm.....Naked Snake is what he called himself at the beginning, not (Solid) Snake..... Game represents the 60's.... Solid Snake was born in '72.
