I was wondering what Military games you guys like the best and why? I was hoping that there are Military games that actual let you rank up. I mean some let your profile rank up but not your character. So is there any RPG like Military games out there? I hope you guys out there know more then I do thanks for all your help. FUSTAR

The Socom games are great for gaining ranks and on the Socom CA you can also earn badges while gaining ranks. The other 3 versions have ranks you can earn each time you go through the game (also you are graded in these games) the higher the grade the better your team will be in single player. I have all 4 of these games along with the Bravo series that crosstalk with the last two versions. I have been playing them on the PS3 and can say there still people playing these games online even today. And you can achieve ranks online as well although getting as much as possible unlocked in single player mood just gives a player more options of weaponsand optionsselection in a online match.

Tom Clancy Ghost Recon, and Rainbow Six games are awesome. However, I've had more fun with the Socom games. They're a lot of fun online.

In "conflict:" your guys earn experience and gain ranks but i think it is superficial. I dont think it improves your aim or how tough your guy is.Ghost Recon 1 and maybe GR2 jungle storm also let you gain experience and you get to spend points upgrading attributes like aim, stealth, health, leadership, and some other things. What good are ranks anyways. I mean what could be better than your own skills deciding what you are able to do or not.

In Freedom Fighters you have a meter (forgot what it's called) that fills up as you fullfill mission objectives and rescue civilians -- as your 'rank' goes up, you can recruit more soldiers to follow simple (but effective) RTS-like commands. I'v played through this game many times and I heartily recommend it.
