There are just so many and in several different categories, that it can be kind of overwhelming if you're starting out. Your next choice depends a lot on what you prefer, because there is so much variety to choose from.
If you liked the traditional turn-based style of FFX's combat, look at either Dragon Quest VIII or Shadow Hearts: Covenant next. Both those are in the same general gaming style, DQVIII is more animated and even more traditional than FFX, whereas Covenant is less so on both counts. I'd normally recommend the Shin Megami Tensei games (Nocturne especially, but also Digital Devil Saga 1&2) as well in this category once you're ready for something more challenging, but they're just awfully difficult to find now. If you end up with a ravenous appetite for the turn-based style, consider the Suikoden, Xenosaga, and Wild Arms games, all of which are classic series.
If you liked the faster real-time combat options in FFXII and are more interested in Action-RPGs, think about either Rogue Galaxy or Tales of the Abyss next. As you get into it, you'll find that games in this genre vary from more deliberate semi-real-time, to full-on hack-and-slash, so there's a lot of variety in store if you find them appealing. Valkyrie Profile 2 is a recent option, Dark Cloud 2 is an older choice but a perennial favorite, and both Radiata Stories and Star Ocean: Til the End of Time are worth considering as well. A lot of people will put the two Kingdom Hearts games in this category too, and those are extremely popular choices regardless of how you classify them.
There are good JRPGs that don't fit neatly into either of those categories, like the Grandia games, or Steambot Chronicles. And if you get in the mood to try something very different and more strategic, check out one of the great Strategy-RPGs available for the PS2 like the classic Disgaea: Hour of Darkness to see if you like it.
