Ive been a massive fan of final fantasy since SNES and i loved breath of fire series, also the MGS series. Ive been really disappointed lately though. I didnt really like King's Quest 8, or breath of fire 5. Final fantasy XII was okay for a while but by the end i kind of just wanted to finsih it and get over it. I didnt click with it. Most final fantassy's i get submerged in. To the point where its 2 am, i have to get up at 6 and ill be like "screw it, ill stay up another hour" I havent had that feeling for a long time. Ive played all the MGS so far so thats not an option. I need something to restore my faith in RPGs. Any ideas?

Persona 3 is supposed to be a really good game that strays from the RPG conventions. Disgaea 2 is good if you like FFT style. I haven't played Odin Sphere but some reviewers have said it is the last great PS2 game. It sounds like you've just been playing the wrong games for you.

Read some reviews rent a couple games and you'll be back on track in no time.

you can never go wrong with the "tales of" games ( tales of symphonia was the best but it's only for the gamecube)
