I recently got my PS2 out of retirement and started playing it. But, I want to play a new game so I wonder which one should I get. God of War 2 or Okami? I heard good things about both but I want a long game and I really don't know which one. So any advice?
If u have played GOW1 then u should definitely get GOW2.andif you arelooking for a long, fun, brutal action go get GOW1+GOW2...
If itsonly 1gameyou are forced to buy take Okami into your consideration because its longer and a good game toobut its RPG. or start with GOW and you will asbsolutely ask for more action in GOW2:P
Okami atleast tried something different and it worked.
God of War is the wussy alternative to masochistic action games such as Ninja Gaiden, Shinobi, and Devil May Cry. It's a glorified hack and slash with excellent production values. Of course, knowing the clientel of this site, I'm fillet mignon while the majority is pan fried steak. Simply unsophisticated enough. It is FAR from the best of this console. In fact, it's one of the most overrated games of this decade. If you think the God of Wars are the best of this console, then you simply need to play more PS2 games.
personally i think Okami is a better game overall, the only downside being that it's too easy really...even the bosses never really become a challenge, there's the final blockhead that can be a little hard but you get infinite attempts on that and it's only a bonus one too...GoW2 is much shorter and probably won't keep you entertained for as long as okami will, but it is far more challenging with some parts actually becoming pretty difficult on the highest difficulties...some bosses can even kill you in 1 hit :P i'd say get both really...but if you can only get one for now then i'd get okami 1st...
I haven't played either of them, but I have played the first God of War. They seem like completely different games though. If you want more of an adventure game then I would say get Okami, if you want an action game then get God of War II.
GoW2 without a shadow of a doubt[: I'm on my third time round on 'titan' difficultyand I'm still not sick of it, (even if my thumb is blistered over!) But yess, definitely one of the better gamesfor the ps2. Do it!
