So yeah, I have a slim Ps2, about few months old, I got it from a friend for 40$ or so.

My problem is, Burnout 3: Takedown will crash after I need to press Start, it loads the beginning video, then crashes.

Every other game works perfectly...o_o

The game itself has some very minor scratches, I tried to fix it with toothpaste, tried to make Ps2 to read disk faster, also diagnosis mode...no help.

Any ides what to do? Or do I need a new game? (:

Thanks.

GOOD LUCK YOUR GOING TO NEED IT-;)

This happend with every game on my original Playstation 2 except original Playstation games those would work fine, sadly this is what made me give up the Playstation 2 completely and it was never fixed. I had got it in 2001 for Christmas and forgot about the warrenty and not having to pay so I was young and stupid and just gave up and could only play original Playstation games on my original Playstation 2 and I did this unitl 2006 to where I couldn't take it any more and destroyed it. I hope this doesn't happen to you my friend for it is what destroyed my Playstation videogame days forever.

If you don't know the toothpaste trick for dvd/cd's you obiviously haven't fixed any dvd/cd. It's the widest known trick..o.o

Anyways, it's only one game...what doesn't work, It did two first times, then after that...it started to crash and stuff.

8 other games are working good, and this Ps2 is not modded nor have I used SwapMagic or Hdloaders, so it's still a virgin one (:

Should I throw the game away or sell it? I ordered a new Burnout already.

I have had the same problem previously.. one of our ps2's started doing that and then all of a sudden it wouldnt play ANY ps2 game and just didnt have the time to fix that one, luckly we have 3 others to use so we werent hurting, but none of our ps2's will play Xenosaga.. no matter how many times i have returned the disc for a new one and cleaned the ps2's and the discs.. so im not sure what to tell you other than to try getting a new copy of the disc or try it out on a different ps2 to see if its just your ps2
