I bought a PS2 off a friend a few months ago, and recently found out I can't watch rated R movies on it. His parents had a lock on it.

Is there any way of getting the lock off without knowing the code?

You're out of luck on that one - The PS2's Parental Lock is as annoying as the Shriek the BIOS makes everytime you turn in on. (You know, the "Sony Computer Entertainment Screen." Trust me, it's annoying when you finish watching a DVD and hit Reset.) You will indeed have to discover the code. Try 0000 or 0001. :P
