it works fine. If ur at a tss up between the slim ps2 and the ps3 that depends on ur price range or if u havean HDtv( or if u live in Europe). If u got the money and a n HDtv get a ps3 its worth the upscale for ps1and ps2 games if not the ps2 will last u another year or so of quality games.

I had laser problems with my original fatty model, but my slim has been perfect. Games my fatty wouldnt play run fantastically. As far as game library it is way to early to compare how ps3 ends up compared to ps2. Ps2 definitely beats ps1 though.
My fault, butyou dont have to get all serious oversomething so small. The laser lens should last on the PS2, and at the price that its at now, I dont think you should worry about the PS3 until its well established.
