Its possible but you need to insert a PS1 memory card into the PS2.

yeah like he ^ said. you need a ps1 memory card to save ps1 games. but you can copy saves from ps1 memory cards to ps2 memory cards.

I always personally found it retarded that you couldn't save ps1 games on a ps2 memory card. I got Chrono Cross, and was so excited, then realized that I couldn't save in it.

I went ahead and got a couple of ps1 memory cards, but, man, that was annoying.

Its possible but you need to insert a PS1 memory card into the PS2.

yes, agreed, just put your ps1 mem card in your slot and it will read it. keep in mind, you need a ps2 mem card to save ps2 games

You can't fit a PS2 memory card on the PlayStation/PSOne console. I don't even think its possible to program PS1 based games to read the Magic Gate encryption the PS2 uses for its memory card.
