It's going to be my birthday soon and I'm going to get a PS2because it's cheap and has awsome games. I was wondering if I should get Final Fantasy X as my first game. RPGs are my favorite gametypes and I hear this game rocks. What do you recommend?

RPGs are your favourite genre? Then you can't live without FFX then. Pick it up.

YES! Defintally get FFX, its the best game on the PS2 IMO. And while you're at it, give Metal Gear Solid 2 a go. I remember walking to gamestop a couple weeks ago and seeing it for like 5 bucks.

Yes, it's a no brainer, you should get it, and if you like it, then look for Dragon Quest VIII, FFXII, and Rogue Galaxy!

FFX is good, but it's too much like a "movie" for my tastes.

I highly suggest Dragon Quest 8 if you like traditional RPGs.

If you happen to like Smash Bros. or old school fighting games, I'd reccommend Tales of the Abyss. It's an action RPG that'll kick you in the pants.

Yeah, FFX is a game that I spent well over 50 hours on. My brother..over 200. Needless to say, he enjoyed it's plethora of side quests and freedom.

Another game worth checking out is Dark Cloud. It's a lot like Zelda, but customization is in a high league.

If you want some action, check out Devil May Cry. That was a trendsetter for action games.

Check out the Jak and Daxter series,too...or if you like loads of different weapons but the size of adventure games, Ratchet and Clank.

I can't make sense out of this post.

RPG's are your favorite, but you never once owned a PS2, before.... Huh? What kind of RPG's have you been playing? JRPG's are a bit different than WRPG's..... Just not sure you're going to get what you expect, from JRPG style of RPG, which dominates onthe PS2.

I wouldnt recomend FFX or Dragon Quest VIII for your first PS2 rpgs......they both good games dont get me wrong but its just that they are a bit slow for a begginner to ps2 rpgs....you may want to start off with Kingdom Hearts or Rogue Galaxy they both great games for begginners.......i would recomend...Tales of the Abyss its a great rpg game and the story will keep you in the midst of crisis throughout most of the game...but you getting FFX is a must for a PS2 owner....so ya def have to get it

He's saying that if the OP loves RPGs so much then why doesn't he have a PS2 yet. The PS2 was the system for RPGs last gen. Hell, the PS2 is probably the best system to own if you're a fan of RPGs considering you get both the PS2 and PSX libraries.
