Ps2 and the probability of breaking

Hello. I just got a PS2. How many years can this system last and how common are disk read errors. I hear disk read errors are

as common to a PS2 as the three red rings are to 360, which is bad because I find the Ps2 to be a good gaming console.

Is your console new or used? I got a Playstation 2 maybe, a year after it launched and then within 2 years I started getting the dreaded DREs. However, after picking up a new console I didn't have any further problems since. Good luck with your system!

i bought my ps2 the first days it was released (about 7 years ago) i use it alot to play games and DVDs and its still working just fine

i think the probability of breaking depends on how the owner takes care of its console.

Seriously how long can PS2's last if you take good care of them. I may sell my PS2 if they are built to last only five years max. My saturn is older than that and it still runs fine.Playstation00
