I have been playing SoTC obsessively lately, i have to admit lol. I think that this game has pretty high replay value but i know games that have more (GTA, FF for example). Now that the PS2's life is winding down i think that for people like me who won't be buying next gen for quite some time, its very important to buy games with high replay value. So what do you think are the PS2 games with best replay value?? Why?

I'd have to say any good multiplayer games have the highest replay value...I'm not quite sure if thats exactly what you ment, as far as campaign mode or not......

i played thru DMC3 and DMC3:SE so many times its not even funny. In SE especially with two characters, unlockables with each difficulty level diff, with diff costumes and easter eggs etc. Yet that wasnt my main incentive for playing it over and over again. It was all about the combo system and getting that S rank for each level and the thing is it was rly enjoyable for me. No button mashing just timing and old school difficulty type lvls with an awesome and flashy fighting system it was just the best :)

Not to mention dante had 4 diff styles and vergil cud switch between 3 weapons on the fly adding to the insane diversity in combos, it was well worth it to play it over and over again just to master everything and destroy enemies (and bosses) with style. Then there was the Bloody Palace...

The Sega collection

RE4

DMC3 special edition

Marvel Ultimate Alliance (I prefer the 360/PS3 versions though cause of the extra characters)

  • Disgaea 1-2
  • Makai Kingdom
  • Phantom Brave
  • Tony Hawk Underground 1 (for being able to make your own parks and goals)
  • Tenchu 2 (ps1 but you get to make your own maps, even though its glitchy, semi bad controls, and fugly graphics hehe)
  • Timesplitters (for map making)
  • Dynasty/Samurai Warriors Empire (for being able to fight over territory and fight against random kingdoms and getting to make your own officers who you might face on the battlefield.
  • Star Wars Battlefront 2 (conquest mode!!)
  • X-men Legends 2
  • Champions: Return to Arms
  • Colosseum: Road to Freedom
  • Soul Calibur 3
  • Mortal Kombat Armageddon
  • DBZ BT 2-3
  • Sims 2/pets
  • NFS U2/MW
  • Stuntman Ignition
  • Drakengard 1-2
  • NHL / Madden
  • Yu-gi-Oh Capsule Monster Colosseum

Hmmmm thats all i can list off from the top of my head. Replay value is one of the most important things i look for in a game I would purchase.

These are some more PS1 games but I just can't leave them out... Azure Dreams, Vagrant Story, and Digimon World 2.

Yeah the Guitar Hero games are games you can play again and again, since they don't actually have a storyline to follow.

Fighting games also have great replay value.

I don't think the PS2 carrier is winding, so I don't worry much about that.

I would Recommend Final Fantasy 12 and 10, Battlefield Modern Combat (For the online!), Shin Megami Tensei Persona 3 and Wild Arms 5 (Ex files force you to replay the whole thing again >_>)

Chessmaster.....one problem, you gotta like chess.

or maybe some sports game that emulates an actual sport you dig...it seems to me there would be no end in sight for a good sports game. I wouldn't know which ones are good though...I'm allergic to sports.
