What would possess you to take something apart that someone's buying from you?

Yo dude if you can't put it back together then even if you did put it back together I would say this is a sour deal. I would not recommend selling it. You might leave something out and you never know what might not work ? I feel bad for the guy who's buying it. I am sure you did not let them know that you took it apart right ? I also notice your PS2 died in April ? If you sell it you might get screwed in the end. You might not think of it as much but one day that person might retaliate on you for a small thing like a playstation ? Your life is not worth the trouble, trust me, just let the guy have it.

You still haven't said why, and Id like to know why you took it apart, besides putting a mod chip in, there is prolly no logical reason for a novice to take it apart?
Overview of the situation:
Took apart $150 system and have no idea how to put back together -

First, your silly for taking it apart and not knowing what your getting into.
Second if you can't put it back together with those two videos, i think your screwed.

There are other reasons to take it apart besides putting mod chips in. I take mine apart because it gets really dusty and i have to clean it also to clean off lense to make it run smooth again. But the topic creator is dumb for taking his apart. DON'T TAKE THEM APART UNLESS U KNOW HOW TO PUT IT TOGETHER.

first off, the topic creator is NOT dumb for taking his ps2 apart. really, it's not that difficult, and some of us like to know how the inner workings of things... well, work. as for the comment regarding you "may forget to put something back in" that's just ridiculous. unless you forget the motherboard or power supply, it's going to work. plus, the ps2 has very few components that could possibly be left out, all of which would be easy to figure out, since very specific problems would occur. if you forget the controller port, then the controllers won't work. easy enough... to the topic creator, the video posted above is excellent. it should give all the info you need to reassemble the ps2. watch it, and follow it. if you still have trouble after that, pm me and i can walk you through it step by step. like you, i had no clue what i was doing before i took mine apart for the first time. after fixing a few of them for friends, it got much easier. personally, i know if i were to buy a used system, i'd like to know that the seller took it apart to clean it beforehand. as long as it works in the end, what's the big deal?

You unplugged cables? How far did you go with it? I've taken apart PS2s to clean but never had to disconnect anything. Did the PS2 work before? If it did why take it apart and possibly cause a problem instead? Kind of messed up to sell a PS2 you just took apart don't you think?
