I'm probably about to buy a used phatty PS2 (again) today, and want to get online play. I see that Network Adapters are sold used on Amazon for about 30 bucks. Most of them say that the installation disc is not included, but not needed for playing online. Can anyone verify that? So when I get the Adapter, all I have to do is hook it up to the PS2, and run an ethernet cable from it to my router? My computer will auto-detect it and all?

Yep, thats what I did. No install disc here and it worked fine.

Sadly the games I played online died one after another...

SSX 3...

Metal Gear Solid...

Goldeneye: Rogue Agent...

Timespliters: Future Perfect...

Really the only game that I use it for now is Resident Evil Outbreak, and I know the majority of the population despises the very existance of that game (I love it though).

So unless you wanna play Resident Evil Outbreak, or you know of another game that is online that you want to play (and please share that in this thread...) then maybe you don't need it :(.

I was basically hoping to play SOCOM 3, Madden 07, and MLB the Show 06 online. And Burnout 3 if there is online play for it. Are you saying most of the servers of the older games are now dead? Anybody know about the ones I just mentioned?
