I'd like to know if there is some good game that is relaxing, without stressing music and ambient. A game like ICO, to put one example, but not necessarily of the same genre.

Katamari Damacy or its sequel, We Love Katamari. Those games are simple, fun, and infectiously cheerful. The crazy-weird humour always puts a smile on my face, and the music is mostly awesome and catchy.

Naa naaaa, na-na na-na na na na na Katamari Damacyyyyyyyyy....

I don't really understand what you're looking for... The only relaxing games I can think of are easy games or non-action adventure games. Well adventure isn't what you want, and the only easy games I can think of are platformers, which are also adventure games. I guess Rez or Lumines might be for you.

You might wanna try a good RPG. I would suggest Dragon Quest VIII. I found it very relaxing and it was one of my favorite games on the PS2.

I finished Shadow of the Colossus yesterday :P
Final Fantasy games aren't relaxing by no means, it's full of people, ambient, colour, music.

My first recomendation its Shadow of the Colossus, its not only "Relaxing" since I spend a lot of hours just wondering arround and eating fruits from the trees, but amazing place to visit and to behold.

Its true Gran Turismo its so relaxing that if I play it in the night I get sleepy.

Something that can take you away from tension its humor, so try Rayman and the Rabbious Rabbids

And Fatal Frame series, je je , that was kidding.

Plain and Simple. Any Harvest Moon. I love those games, no aggression, no feeling of urgency, no stress. When ever I'm feeling stressed and have no aggressions to take out I play Harvest Moon: a wonderful life, and enter a Zen-like state of complete and total tranquility and relaxation. It's definitely the game you're looking for.

Well for me when i dont want to play an intense game and just want to chill out and sit back i pop in Playboy the Mansion. Its kind of like the sims but its got a slow pace to it.Its got some bugs though in the mission mode that sometimes cause you to have to start back over from scratch.Someone mentioned Katamari Damacy to that ones pretty easy going fun.Romance of the three Kingdoms is really slow paced if you are itnto ruling kingdoms and micromanaging.

If you can find RPG Maker 3 and have a creative nack, I found that pretty relaxing to 'play' in moderate doses -- just twittering away, not really making a whole game.

Yeah, I played GameBoy ones, but I forgot that there was one for PS2 too, thanks :P

  • Harvest Moon
  • Any sims game
  • Playboy the Mansion
  • Football or Hockey with the computer AI set to retard.
  • Need For Speed Most Wanted.
  • Any Tony Hawk game before P8
  • GTA:SA

You may not think NFS or GTA ae relaxing but it depends on what you are doing in them.   In NFS you can just cruise around town in your favorite car and then get into a police chase just to screw around.   In GTA you can start killing people until the cops come and then kill the cops and then try to get away and see how many stars you can get without being caught.   Tony Hawk games are relaxing if you build your own skateparks.

Do not play the harvest moon game on the ps2 that they ported over from the gamecube that one is ignorant and a total divergence from every other Harvest Moon game.  You only get a small plot of dirt to grow crops in and you dont make any money growing crap unless you get stuff to alter the seeds and I hate it!

If you have a good PC try playing the mmorpg EVE Online.  That game is freaking awesome.   The visuals are unbelievable and the music is all techno and trance.  You could just have fun flying around staring at the stars....until you get attacked by other players and killed.

A lot of people are offering suggestions that require you not to make any progress in the game in order to have a relaxing experience. If this is what you have in mind Ultimate Spider-man is a good choice. It's very relaxing to just web swing around the city as Spider-man or go on a rampage through the city as Venom for a Cathartic release of of anxiety.

Nothing is more relaxing than playing Katamari Damacy, while hearing either Katamari on the Rocks or Cherry Blossom Color Season (the game's best themes). You can't lose, you just keep rolling, and rolling, and rolling, while hearing that wonderful music. It's one of the funniest and most relaxing games I played.

In a way, I guess Metal Gear Solid can be relaxing... until you get caught.  And you really want to pay attention to the cutscenes, so if you skip them (beat the game at least once first because the story is amazing) then it could work.
