I played the first RE remake for the cube and thought it sucked, but recently out of nowhere i just thought of getting this game, and spring break just started for me, so i was wondering if this is any good.  If you think its worth it, please tell me why.  and how scary is it?

You must be joking right?  Do you want your thread to get popular?  You are asking about a game that is accepted across all gaming sites and players.  The scores speaks for themselves.  This game is one of those games you should feel fortunate to be worth $20.  If you didn't like the GC version (I find that weird but hey everyone has different tastes), then you may not like this one.  Stop playing around and get the game!

It's the most intense action the ps2 or the gamecube has ever seen. i've spent $120 on it, twice on gc then once more on ps2. No joke.

i meant that i played the first resident evil, the first one the came out for the ps1, and remade it for the gamecube

having played both versions extensively, go for the GC version. The ps2 might have a little bit extra gameplay, but the presentation and controls are far superior on gc. To be honest, it's really pretty close, i just hated playing it on ps2 after the gc version, because the game feels like it was made for the gc controller.

It is one of the best PS2 games around, u will definatly enjoy it. Another thing, i though the remake of RE1 on gamecube is excellent.

One of the reasons why its a good port is that they added an Ada side story plus an unlockable new weapon...

The plr412 (whatever it's called) does not help the game a bit. The other new weapon is cool though...

honestly since I bought it Ive only popped it in once and only played for about an hour or so.

It definitely didnt make much of a first impression for me, despite all the ravid fanboys.

thanks for the help guys, but do you think i should get it for the ps2 or cube?  i know one of you earlier mentioned that the cube is slightly better(ur name started with a c sorry i can't remember, but thanks u gave good advice).

The game is definetly worth the 20 dollars and definetly worth the 50 dolllars i paid when it first came out on the gamecube

I have to ask though... If you have a Wii...

I recently read the news that they plan a Wii Version 

I suggest you to pick the newer version of RE4 for the Wii... again... they have ported the game and added the features from the PS2 with a couple of new ones...

Yes this game is worth it, I have the gamecube verison but awesome game for the PS2 too as well.

thanks everyone for your advice, i went out and bought it an hour and half ago, and so far its great!!!  really intense though, but i like it!  (got it for the cube by the way)

one of the best games ever yes! it has redesigned controls. so its not like REmake. but if you have a wii, wait for RE4 for it.

yeah bro, RE4 is just one of the best games i've ever seen, if u wanna spend your spring break right then go buy a RE4 right now, though......don't waste the whole spring break on a game, or you'll be a geek jeje
