Resident evil outbreak is seriously horrible. no story no nothing its just crap on a cracker. Id go with obscure, though if I where you I'd sooner look at the Silent Hill series if you haven't already
I have both of these titles and I would recommend that you buy neither. But if your really desperate, Obscure offers co-op mode if your planning to play with a friend(which is the only thing i like about that title). On the other hand, Outbreak offers a great atmosphere and better graphics. Neither game has any replay value or innovation, but obscure is just a tad better only bcuz Outbreak is suppose to be an online game. Obscure>outbreak (approach with caution)
i have and like them both, but id pick up obscure first.
If you want to try any other horror games, theres also Fatal Frame 2 & 3.. (or the first one if you can find it) and Rule of Rose are 3 of my favorite horror games, or Manhunt
If you like to play online games Resident Evil Outbreak is a good choice, but sadly File#2 went down several months ago, and it's no longer working, the first Outbreak game is still online and there are a good amount of people who still play it. I've never heard of the game Obscure so I can't really help you there. As a fan of RE Outbreak for several years now I really do enjoy playing online with people and making friends.
Firstly, ignore the kid mentioning RE4, its not even a horror game. 2nd while making a choise keep in mind that RE:outbreak will (most probably) be pulled offline within 6 months and as a singleplayer its just horrible.
Personally i would recomend fatal frame: 2 as the best horror game available for this gen. Between obscure and RE:outbreak i would go with obscure as it still features a passible AI and even allows for 2 players co-op
I've got both Resident Evil Outbreak games1 and 2 and I would only recommend Outbreak 2. I live in Europe where the first one didn't have any online gameplay plus unless you have an internal harddrive you are stuck with...............long loading times.
I know a little about Obscure but not enough to recommend it. Sorry.
