Oh it's definitely up there, by no means is it the best game ever, but I can't honestly think of many more that could provide a bit of fun whenever you feel like it, everything about the game I think Rockstar got right to be honest
a lot of people didn't like the 'gangsta' character, but I thought, with all the surroundings, he was a perfect fit, along with the story line. And the missions around Las Venturas, such as the one into Area 69, or in San Fierro like getting th Hydra from the Aircraft Carrier, were some of the best I've ever played.
I'm not fond of GTA. So saying San Andreas is the best game ever is like saying mindless street crime is the best thing ever. But I'm just stating my opinion as you are. Don't listen to me.
San Andreas is OVER RATED. It's just another FPS.. no differant than GTA3.. they just added rpg elements of leveling up your body and the ability to buy clothing, and a new storyline. OMG THE CHALLENGES..

your the dumbest anal canal to ever walk the world you dont even know what fps stands for if you call san andreas an fps you should just take any game system you have and ram it up your butt
Best of the franchise and definitely up there as one of the elites... but i think that the sheer scale, glitches and the fact I felt less immersed in the story with the characters possibly makes it unworthy as THE BEST. Perhaps MGS2?
I'm glad I'm not the only one that saw through the horror of San Andreas. It was more GTA, but it wasn't nearly as good as the previous two. The complete lack of class made it hard to play, the gameplay felt much slower (compare running in GTA3 or Vice City to CJ's sluggish jog.), and all the fan-service elements, from flight school to jetpacks, distanced it from the series' roots. I was disappointed by San Andreas and I sold my copy after finishing it. I'll take GTA3 any day.
I thought it was by far the worse GTA game to date, same as all the other GTA games but with very very badly done RPG elements and just plainly boring story and missions.
hell to the NO... gets boring too quickly, storyline is dumb as hell, aiming is incosistent and bad. It's not even in my top 10 best games on ps2.....best game EVER?...psh, hell no
its definitely the most overrated game. its a great game but i got bored of it. i never finished the storyline so story's out. it never had any defining moments and the graphics are pretty bad. the graphics are pretty much 2001 ps2 graphics. its not top ten on ps2 or all time games. maybe it has a chance of top 10 of its genre but thats it. the only the thing i could say its the best at is out of all the gta's. thats not saying much given that all of them are pretty identical. its jus that game that all the middle school boys go crazy about and say that they dhot up some stuff.(i was one of them) but its definitely not the best.
