well apparently enormous companies such as EA, SEGA and many others are continung to support the ps2 as long to 2010 and sony recently announced there r new controllers for it as well that connects through the usb port rumored to be a controller as interactive as the Wii n also as many of u already know a new revisied system will becoming outvery soon with a ~PRICE CUT~ $100 which is guarnteed to sell alot just as it did 4 the psonebutlol srry to allups2 haters looks like PS2 is still n the game as the old guy puttin up a very big fight

Well, the Playstation 2 has yet to die. So I can see why they would continue to back it up.

My fatty is still in good condition. But I may get one of these new PS2s out of reinsurance. It's still showing a lot of life, but I still expect it to just abruptly die one day. Paranoia more than proof.

i'm gonna buy a ps2 just as insurance that i'll be able to play all my ps2 games when i'm older. My fatty still works but i just want to make sure its around when i get to be like 50 so my kids can enjoy it lol. They'll probably be doing like crazy VR or something but whatever.Jaster_DCX

Don't get your hopes up people. Other than Yakuza 2 I don't expect anything good coming from Sega for the PS2 - maybe more crappy sonic games or sonic spinoffs. EA will release their yearly sports games and maybe racers - games that don't change much, more like updated rosters and skins.

Licensed games and the majority will probably be marketed for younger kids (i.e. the gamers that need parents to give them money to buy their games, gamers who wouldn't have access to next gen systems because of their price).
