I just bought it and it rules!!
The first Colossus took me 15 minutes, mostly because I was still trying to get used to things...
But, man! When I saw it walking by....I was like  "What the f*ck am I doing?"
Congrats!
Yeah, SotC is the coolest thing especially when you first experience it, I had that same feeling I first played it too.

Yep.I don't know.. I was thinking of buying this game when the price dropped but.. the only thing that was stopping me was it looks like this game is only good the first time around.. would you have as much fun or be interested playing it again after you beat it? and after that?Thread-Thief

The first one took me almost an hour, since I got the game from a friend without the booklet so I was like how do I do this and that. The last one took me 30 minutes, really easy compared to soe previous ones as:
the one you have to hit the rocks in its head to move it
This is for people who are interested in buying it and want to know what kind of replay value there is, a lot of people have criticized SotC for having no replay value but I hope this shines some light on it.
There are 4 modes in SotC, normal, normal time attack, hard and hard time attack; I will explain how it works.
When you finish the game on normal mode you will be able to save your game on a file, you have unlocked 2 things, normal time attack and hard, to play normal time attack simply load the save, you can pick hard mode on the title screen.
Normal time attack is normal mode but now when you start in the temple you can walk up to the statues and press circle in front of them to start time attack, time attack mode takes you straight to the colossus fight, if you fail you can start over so you don't have to make long journeys to reach them.
When you have beat the time you are set you will instantly be back at the temple and you are free to challenge any of the others, with every 2 time attacks you beat you get a secret item (8 unlockable items), it could be a weapon, a mask, maybe even a fruit locater, killing the colossus in time attack has nothing to do with the colossus you have to kill in the story, so basically say you kill the first colossi in time attack, you still have to kill it in the story to progress to the next colossi, but you can use the uber items you are unlocking on the way to kill them.
Now for Hard mode, people might tell you that when you find out the way to beat the colossus there no reason to play it after, this isn't the case because most of the colossus in hard mode has added weak points and also I've noticed there A.I is slightly different from normal mode.
Also in Hard you do often die with 1 direct hit, so if you accidentally fell under some colossi's feet you can easily get trampled to death, its very unforgiving compared to normal mode what's to forgiving. All the colossus takes a hell of a lot more damage than they do on normal, so you will find yourself losing your grip more frequently.
After you complete Hard mode you will be asked if you like to save the game, save it then you can open this save and just like it works in normal mode, you will be in hard mode but now you can play hard time attack.
Hard time attack has 8 different items to unlock, these items are different from normal, and they can't be transferred either way over, it's very challenging, and very frustrating, but its so rewarding when you take each one down.
Yeah, I remember the first time I seen it walk by as well, it was breath taking. And when you do take down the colossi, it's a very satisfying feeling. Very kewl, original game IMO.But, man! When I saw it walking by....I was like  "What the f*ck am I doing?"
