Shadow Of The Colossus is Hard!

Is it just me or is Shadow Of The Colossus really hard to figure out. Ok I couldn't figure out how to beat the first colossi or the second one. I just watched a video on how to beat them because I didn't have the patience. I mean the game is really cool but now i'm at the third colossi and I just cant figure it out. It says "its armour seems to be brittle" or something.

Has anybody else found this game hard?

As the above posters, this game was so much fun. wish they would of continued making new versions of this game. such a great type of game. ive never played anything like to....

If you keep looking online for ways to kill the colossi then your killing one of the best aspects of the game; Finding out how to take them down. The game will last much longer if you don't use help.

Also, it's not a difficult game.

Anyways here's what you have to do. Have your character step on the ring platform on the ground and wait for the colossi to adjust his position and aim a you. Prepare to run by the time he strikes and BEFORE he hits you. Don't just wait there or you'll die. When you do so, a cut-scenes triggers showing you that the armor he's wearing is now broken and you can now climb to the top of his head. Now do the step on the ring technique all over again and wait for him to hit you and when his arm is on the ground, quickly run and climb his sword, then to his head and take out your sword. Then go to his left shoulder and pulnge your sword there. Then drop to his belly from the front and give him more stabs there and he's dead! Good luck with that:)

It's not hard but there's hard mode and the most difficult mode is hard time attack mode. And btw the 3rd colossi is the most difficult one to defeat in that mode!

it's kinda hard on me too. i'm still stuck at the 4th Colossus buti haven't given up yet!. it's just that i get bored really fast so i didn't continue the game from that point on...

Gamespot's very own guide lol, that's exactly right as you progress the Colossi do get harder the trick is figuring out where a lot of thier fur is and howto get to it with that done it's relatively easy. The hardest part for me was finding some of them.

If you've played ICO you need to play this game.

Here's a tip: The environment is sometimes important to defeating a colossus. Also, your trusty stead is sometimes important too in defeating a colossus.

Another one: Raising your sword always points you in the direction to where the next colossus is, right? Another use of that function is that it also can show you where the weak point of a colossus is.

Another one: Just because a certain part of the colossus isn't a weak point, doesn't mean you shouldn't hit it with your sword or arrow.

Last tip: Aside from the weak point, other parts of the colossus's body glows. Hit those parts with the sword or arrows.

Great Tips! I'm definitly going to figure these bosses out myself now.

Shadow of the Colossus is actually the only PS2 game I've beaten. And I own 25 PS2 games!

So if someone like me, who clearly sucks at games, can beat Shadow of the Colossus, you can too. Just make sure you pay attention to those tips. Discovering explointing and exploiting the weakness a colossus can be a bit tricky.

Yes, it's hard. But it's worth it in the end

The game is very good. The first time you play can be pretty difficult to appreciate but take the time to play. There's only 2 boss left for me to beat and i have to say that it's the first time i have some major difficulty to beat these boss.

This game need to be played

I agree. Hard games are fun... Usually...

You really should try an figure it our for yourself, that is the gameplay of the game. You kill that, then the gameplay is very stripped down. You could just sit and drool at the amazing artistry all the time, but to enjoy game you have to figure it our for yourself. Don't get frustrated, the game does give you tips too.
