Gears of war O_o wanted to see ... rented with a friend and after 3minutes we went back to the store to change it. Not our kinda game at all. we thought it was an action game, but it was another dumb shooter imo. shortest i've played a game.
shortest i played through was humm let me see .... super mario 3 .. yah ... lost 1 life and did it real fast was somewhere near 2 hours i think. getting at bowser with a flower (although its kinda though) is a total rape lol .....
on a side note my longest play through (with the completist mind set) was final fantasy X ... getting all the monsters for the arena and getting all the blitzball games took me forever. i wish in blitzball the game would end when you lead by 10 points it wouldve been quicker. it took me 310hours 34minutes and 50 seconds or the like base on time they show when you save. O_o little BRO actually erased my game by "accident" O_o so im not sure about the time.
I'm going to say The Bouncer, you can beat the game with one character in like 1.5-2 hours and have the entire game completely done in 5-6 hours. This is just for regular players too, the hardcore people can probably have it done it much less time.
Excluding games from an era where they were all really short, Zone of Enders. Great game but short. Never played the second one, but I heard it's shorter.

Prince of Persia Sands of Time was pretty short. I can finish that game in four hours. Also god of war was short too maybe because i was addicted to it.
I would have to say Jak 3 and Jimmy Neutron: Attack of the Twonkies. Both took me a week or so to finish, that's about 1 to 2 hours each day tops. I don't pay attention to how long I've played, but those two I felt like was the shortest.
   Ico, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Lara Croft: Legend isn't too far behind.Â
