and as usual, I leave regretting I ever entered in the first place.

I went there looking for a used version of Resident Evil 4 withouth the Greatest Hits logo. I found it, the game even looked new. Plastic still had some shine to it. I check out and return home to peal off all 97 "USED GAME" stickers around the box. I peal off one of them to discover that this version of the game is the Resident Evil from the trilogy pack. It has a "Part of a set. Not intended for individual sale, return or exchange" logo on it.

My question is, am I entitled to an exchange? Or will they decide to screw me over once again? I figure I ask here rather than walk all the way there and get rejected.

Thanks.

I would just buy another one, making sure it's the cover art I want, switch the cover art and return it.

The artwork is the same on the box. There's just this tiny logo in back of the game that tells you that it came from a set. But here's the thing, let's say I try to sell this game, I won't be able to because of it. This is why I want to exchage it.

Plus if I do switch the box art paper, the serial on the side of the box and in the game would be different.

You know what, I've had it. I'm pledging here and now never to buy anything from GameStop ever again. They've screwed me over more times than I can count. It's my own fault. I'm done.

You know what they say:

If you do it once, shame on you. If you do it twice, shame on me.

Now, sorry for my last post but I find it funny how everybody gets screwed by GameStop and nobody seems to learn.

Anyway, I'd probably bust into the store and wreck havock 'til they change it, because you're right... Plus, being a part of a set, and not for individual sale, they should've never sold it to you in the first place.

lol Goblin, it's not such a bad idea. And I didnt really have a problem with your previous post.

But yeah, only reason I was buying stuff from them was because I was looking for a bunch of hard to find PS2 games so I had to go to a place with a lot of used games. now that I've got everything, I'm done with them.

And yeah, it's amazing how many people GS screws over. I've heard stories far worse where people pre-order games and go to pick them up and they don't have anymore or something. I'd be so P.O.'d.

I thought since they weren't allowed to sell it to me in the first place, I could geta refund. Whatever, I'll letthis one pass. No use in going bac now.

Oh please, chances are, the lowly employees (who I hope LEAVE to better jobs) won't give a damn if you try to trade in the game there. I have seen Daxter & Family Guy: Le Vechiement Super Cool or whatever in English The Freaking Sweet Collection (part of the PSP 2000 promotional package), the Spider Man 3 blu ray that came with the PS3 40GB SKU, and individual parts of the GTA Trilogy at the used section of Game Stop.

I wan't talking about selling it to GameStop. I'd never sell a game there. I only bought a few used ones. I was talkign about selling it at an indy game store near my house. These people do check, I've seen it.

Why can't you trade it in? Obviously, some one has before.

Oh, and no one in the store ever checks the serial numbers. They don't have time for that crap.

Get the Premium Edition in the metal case. Most pimp packaging ever for an RE game.

They will exchange it.

I bought a copy of Vice City once and they gave me a copy from the GTA trilogy. The box was the original. I took it back and they gave me the one I wanted no problem.

LOL, if that happened to me I'd go ape on them, just like Homer Simpson did, when he got covered in mud that one time and he looked like Bigfoot. Too many stupid things happened to me at EB Games/Gamestop and well, I hate that place. I have no choice though, no other stores do the $5 game insurance thing.

Yeah, I know what you mean... I spend ten minutes taking those stupid things off, and then my fingers are stuck together for half the day.

Once upon a time I loved GameStop. Then they started carrying more used games than new games. Then I couldn't FIND any new games. So I stuck with the online store. Then I ordered a game that they had to backorder, and I kept going back to check on the process and it would say backordered, and then processing, and then backordered, and then processing, and then backordered, and...well, you get the point. End result? I gave up.

It's still the most easily accessible place to get games though.

I tried to trade in my Forza 2 motorsport for x360 in there but it had a "not for resale" imprint on the back. They refused it. That being said, they can get in a lot of trouble for selling you a game in that fashion, because they've just sold you a game that you can never sell anywhere else.

Take it back, if they refuse, then ask for the manager. Make a big deal out of this.

Dahl has the right idea, make a big deal out of it. The Gamestop near my house doesn't give me any problems at all, maybe it's the employees. So you have a couple of options: A: Try to exchange or return it. B: Try to lie and say "My ps2 for some reason won't play it." and return it. C: Cry and whine that it's Gamestops fault. D: Get something else, or get it with the Greatest Hits thing on it. I'm not saying everyone;s wrong, I'm just saying there's a few Gamestop's out there that acctually have good people working there. Try not blaming the whole company, but blaming the store near you or the employees.

If you can exchange it because it doesn't work in your PS2, I'm sure you can exchange it because it's the wrong one.
Gamestop isn't that bad.
