hmmm.
it looks like dragonquest 8.
Wild Arm games are cool but they are so damn long and combat engine is so boring. If i say it once I will say it a thousand times. Menu driven rpg combat is DEAD!! Stick a fork in it, its done!!. Go action rpg or tactical are get thehellout of the industry!!!_AbBaNdOnyou fail at life, the megaten series is alive and well(shin megami, persona) and they are doing better than ever since nocturne came out!
If you don't like these types of games then stop posting in the threads for them.
As for the question stated in the topic, yes I'm picking up Wild ARMs V.
oooo wow yeah those are some must play games. What was i thinking. You lose, try again. _AbBaNdOnwhy dont you try playing them dude, ignorance...
Wild Arms is an average rpg series that always scores in the 7's on all sites. Ive yet to buy one because they seem so 'average.' Should i pick up a Wild Arms game or am i right? :(Carmilla31
lol you don't buy games because they are just average? wtf? most games are average and a very few are double or triple A titles. You must have a very small collection.
Anyways Wild Arms is disliked mostly because it's a western RPG. I will most likely get Wild Arms 5 only because there is nothing else that great coming out on the PS2 besides maybe Growlancer.
The review I mentioned above stated that the over world was similar (ie huge and scenic) , but that's about it.hmmm.
it looks like dragonquest 8.

Good ol' Wild Arms.
The first one was great for it's time, it's my 2nd favourite PS1 RPG behind FFVII. But it's so ugly now that it's difficult to look at.
Too bad the remake (Alter Code F) was a low-budget let down.
2nd Ignition was ok, but not as good as the first. It was kinda meh.
WA3 just didn't do it for me. This is where I gave up on following this series.
Tried 4 at a friends house. It didn't jump out at me. I passed.
And 5... I don't think I'm going to get it. Matter of fact, I know I'm not. I love turn based RPG's, but Wild Arms just isn't my cup of tea. This franchise is mediocre to the core.
Menu driven rpgs arent dead. I agree with that other poster that games from the megaten series still keep menu driven rpgs alive and kicking. Honestly, all these new games that are hack and slash action based rpgs dont really do it for me. Menu driven battles have always defined rpgs in my opinion. All I have to say is, " To know where your going, remember where you are from."PreLuDe_DuDeWord.
Exactly. This series was always scored in the 7's with average scores and was always a good series... never a great or 'wow' series.Good ol' Wild Arms.

Conjuration
X-seed is the developer and they were formely known as Clover who did Okami not to mention a bunch of other god awful games like god hand. #4. The hex system is beyond retarded. Some hexs have elemental properties which can either help or hurt you as you would expect. A hexagonal is six sided. Get it 6. As in Six shooter._AbBaNdOn
Okami and Godhand are both good games thats often are raved about by fans and critics, you make no sense calling them godawful.
[sarcasm] your right usen the shape of the battle grid to subliminally remind you of six shooters, is so retarded. Wait there are 7 hexes on the battle field so maybe they mean seven shooter [/sarcasm]
Oh and I find the repetative button mashing of your action RPGs boring.
