I noticed this the other day and was wondering if anyone else did?

I went to EB games, hoping to find a used version of FF8 because my disc 2 was damaged and i couldn't get past the point where you go down memory lane with all your party members at Trabia Garden. (about my 10th time playing that game hehe) Ya i know, it was a long shot seeing how these games are rare.

And i found about four brand new versions of ffvii, ffviii and ffix. According to the EB Game managers, S-E has made copies of their games and sold them to various stores..(i've only seen them in EB game stores.). The content of the games are the same, however, the pictures on the disks have changed. They are greatest hits versions, with just writing on them instead of the pictures of their faces. (in the case of ff8).

I think it's a good idea by S-E..because it gives ppl who haven't played a chance to, or for those of us who have poor condition disks (mine resulted from lending them out too much ... >>) we can still get new ones.

I don't believe you. I've searched all over the web for any official confirmations, and so far you are the only one making thisclaim. Also, the prices of the Games on Ebay are still considerably high, so I'm pretty sure the games are still out of print.

I believe hes telling the truth. If you look at Amazons top 100 best selling games, FF8 is like number 80. And that list includes 360, Wii, PS3, PS2, DS, etc. Thats not too shabby. http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/videogames/ref=pd_ts_pg_4/103-4962413-4268660?ie=UTF8&pg=4

The PS1 ones that are still in print are FF Origins (1+2), FF Chronicles (4+CT), FF Anthology (5+6), FF 8, and FF 9. Alas two of the best, FF 7 and FF Tactics, arent in print anymore. :(

actually i am telling the truth. I'm not 100% about ffvii because i only saw used copies..but i did purchase a brand new copy of ff8 thats completely different from the original. Un touched, and newly created. They released them awhile ago; a couple eb games i visited now do have these games. they're labelled 'greatest hits' versions of the game, and they're brand spankin. new.

ya see i was 100% sure on FFVII, the manager told me it was..but i didn't see any copies but pre played versions there.
I did in fact see the rest of those. And FFVII was still even at my wal mart up until 6 months ago..so you're probably right, ff7 is probably on the down low now.

Yep. I decided to purchase ff8 while i still could...who knows when they'll stop printing them. But they just started up again not too long ago apparently. Making greatest hits and new copies of the games.

It's BS. Just go to the website and do a search. Nothing for the PS1 shows up.

I saw Final Fantasy VIII in a top ten sales chart in a magazine (I think it was Game Informer) about six months ago. I think it's possible that they are still producing copies of those games. I don't believe they are making any more FFVIIs though, because they don't want to cut into the sales of the remake that's gonna be announced soon.

I don't have any proof that Squenix is remaking FFVII. But if you think about the fact that they suddenly start making all these new games and a movie based on FFVII, ten years after the original was released, it seems like a remake would be the next logical step. They know gamers want it, and they've already remade FFI - FFVI, and are currently working on Tactics.

FFIX hurt my brain in bad ways at the end. But, the graphics were awesome (at the time :)) and getting to the end was a fun experience.

I work for Gamestop (same company as EB Games) and I've never heard about us having new copies of FF VII, VIII, or IX. We don't even carry PS1 games anymore!!!!! Where do you live and what is the number to that EB Games? Of course, if this is real you won't mind letting me know.

Uh ya..it was at the EB Games in ottawa at the Carlingwood mall. I know they still have brand new FFIX games, but i don't know about FFVIII because the one i got was one of the last ones

give me a break. that's the states website you're most likely looking at, and it was at the EB Games in Ottawa at the Carlingwood mall...they still HAVE ps1 games. Most of the EB Games i have found in the ottawa area, have ps1 games.

Exactly, since S-E loves the money..wouldn't you think it's logical for them to keep printing them if there is a high demand for them? Honestly, i'm tired of ppl saying this is 'BS' (not u directly gaa) and it's not true just because they can't find it online...well the EB Games in ottawa don't have online sites, or are connected to the online sites. (i know i have to call and order stuff..not internet.) Jeepers. go check out amazon.com..u can still get brand new copies of the game for 20$. How do you think they get their's if they are so 'RARE' as u ppl say.

If you live in the ottawa area, check the EB Games there. I know they still have some..especially the one in Carlingwood mall, AND they can order them for you.
