Anyone got suggestions of where to buy old PS1 games like FFVII and MGS1 without donating a arm and a leg....

Sometimes you can catch some luck on ebay, but I personally don't use them. I just have a strange fear of bidding at that place. I buy older games on amazon most of the time, they're almost always in excellent condition, maybe missing a manual but no big deal. The prices are usually pretty fair and inexpensive. Depends which place you like more, though if you get a game directly from amazon, you know its more reliable than from some joe off the internet street.

Amazon and your local auction-places. Pretty much only place if you want a somewhat fair price.

Yea, I agree with amazon, however used FFVII on amazon is going for 50 minimum....  I remember buying it new way back in the day for that lol.

those games are RARE!!! well I once saw FF7 and 8 in the same gamestop(in Ala Moana) and MGS1. but the prices were pretty high. FF7 was $37 but I already played it so and the others were cheaper then that but still expensive for late era games

imo ebay is still the best.  i've bought tons of games (old and new) at awesome prices.  You're gonna be hard pressed to find a cheap original version (black label) of ff7, 8, or mgs1.  but you should still get  greatest hits versions for pretty cheap.

Ebay is probably your best bet.  Amazon is good too, but for those titles you will probably pay more from an independant Amazon seller.  They know it's rare and usually post a high price and just wait for someone who wants it bad enough to pay that price.  On ebay there are usually a few auctions/sellers to choose from, just make sure the seller has good feedback and that they aren't charging an arm and a leg for shipping.  The seller should also give a description of  the game, its condition and if the case and instructions are included.  If the bidding price gets too high then set your sights on a different auction. I've bought tons of things off ebay since 2000 and only had a problem once and ebay helped me resolve the problem with the seller.

I have and never will understand why people are so fussed over a friggin label. Black, red, green, yellow, etc. It's the game your buying to play, not the packaging. I bought FFVII new when it came out, and even if it had a green label I wouldn't give a damn.

You may find them at used video game store, flea market, Ebay, Yahoo, or Amazon.

some people like to collect games, and if they gonna collect you want the original version that's all.

There's this store called Play N Trade by where i live and it rocks. I called asking to see if they had 2 games in particular and they didn't, but the guy offered to call all the stores in the Salt Lake area to have them sent down. I picked them up today. And they matched the price for one of the games since it was higher than Gamestop. They let me reserve Zelda for DS for a penny too. This store is hecka sweet with awesome customer service.

Same here. I realize that some people do buy with an eye more towards collecting and reselling games as an investment, so I guess to them it matters whether it's a "first edition" or a GH reprint. But I don't intend to sell games, I buy them because I want to play them. If I could find new, unused copies of FF Tactics, Persona 2, FF7, Xenogears, and MGS at anywhere near reasonable prices, they could be pink with yellow polka-dots on them for all I care.

Yeah, I bought my FF7 for 50 bucks on ebay. Not bad, I got the black labels too.

I would say your best bet is Ebay, I had a few problems back in the day..but it was mainly my fault cause I "pre-ordered" a game on ebay. I could tell you this....It's a no-no.
