So im thinking of giving this game a try. it will be the first of the series for me and im wondering what everyones thoughts are. it seems to be the best of the ps2 era series. so yeah thoughts? thanks
personally. i loved this game's story. it was really emotionally touching. especially one part where you get to find out to what really happened to the hero who saved the grasslands...very much like lunar 2's althena...... i even saved one spot on my memory card to see that scene over and over.......but thats off topic.
the only thing i dont like about this game is that there is a lot of backtracking until you get the mirror which teleports you to any location and the return to base item. which ii had forgotten what the name was...its really a good game.
Suikoden 3 started the 3D graphic image for the Suikoden series. But the 3D graphics were bland and repetitive. The story was divided into 3 separate stories for 3 different characters each. These traits finally got me dropping this game. I prefer Suikoden 2, it has a great story and it was more fun to play with.
The game is great, but its extremely old. Graphics and many other things will feel old. It is the best of the PS2 era (havent played 1 and 2) but I liked 5 more. You will get lots of fun from it, the story is exelent with lots of plot twists, and the Trinity sight system gives you a new approach to a story that no other game has done. You can finish the game in 40-50 hours. Unlike 4 and 5 this game has no replayability bonus. That means to if you want to play it again, you get to carry nothing and its as if you started a new game. In 4 and 5 you get to carry some stuff like items, money and some magics (called runes)
I couldn't stand it, I couldn't finish it because I got so bored with it. I thought the characters and the monsters were really bland. A lot of people seem to like it, maybe I'll give it another try if I find the time and patience.
Get it. If you appreciate a good story, you'll love the Trinity Sight System. And the battle system, although a bit confusing at first, works very well.
