Tales of the Aybss was probably the best RPG last year. Only problem is...It did not have the name Final Fantasy.

Xenosaga...Grab some popcorn and might as well use the Remote. Pretty much a huge movie.

Tales of the Abyss was alright I really didnt like it compared to the others. Xenosaga for me was a great RPG experience and I am sad that it had to end. I will tell you know that Xenosaga II is the weakest one in the series its still an alright RPG though. Xenosaga and Xenosaga III were great and some of the best RPGs I have played in awhile. It just depends on what you like. If you are into more of Sci-fi opera/ norse mythology/ Friedrich Nietzche themed RPG I say go with Xenosaga.

If you have played XenoGears you may find Xenosaga interesting. Again like I said it depends on what you want in an RPG. I found Xenosaga to just have a wonderful story, characters, battle system (in games I and III)sound track et cetera that just really made the series enjoyable for-plus I am a fan of the in graphic cut-scenes. Xenosaga is pretty much a huge sci-fi opera movie; I will tell you now its not for everyone. Personally I think its an underrated series but thats me.

Tales had a very good battle system I thought though and I did like the characters. The frame rate dropped sometimes for me which didnt like and some of the locations were kind generic.

please enlighten me people

i tried 3 xenosaga eps1 and all of them were broken at the beginning so i gave up on that, though i was big fan of Xenogears. i saw many people say its so great.

but the thing i wonder is tales of abyss. because i downloaded videos of it and what i see is, the game turns to a button masher in battles, the player was waving his sword until the battle is over, and cant control other characters in his party. whats good about tales of abyss, please explain some

You're wrong . You have many option in battles like using Skill , slashing up and down or do some combo(This is the best part of tales series ). You can control other character in the party as well.

I like both, but I'd have to say decide based on the type of battle system you find fun.  Xenosaga is turnbased where as Tales is real time action based.

Xenosaga does have very long movies telling it's story, making for long periods of time with out you really playing the game, so much as watching the game.  Still enjoyable if you like a good story in your games.

Definitely Xenosaga.  But then, I like my games to have a plot line and a story, so...
