the best sound track and worse in the final fantasy series

which Final fantasy you think as the best music, seriously i can't choose one for the best as i love 7,8,9,X pretty much equally

but the worse is FFX-2 i mean it was horrible 

Tough to say.  FF7 was probably my favourite overall soundtrack, and for just one song I'd have to go with, To Zanarkand, in FF10.  My favourite video game song.

Worst, again tough to choose.  FF12 didn't have anything special, and FF8 was overall very good but I hated the overworld theme. Didn't play FFX-2 so I don't know that soundtrack. 

Toss up with 7, 8, and 9

I like 7's a lot, although they are very midi-sounding.

8 improves on that, I like how they sound orchestra-ish :)

And 9, I could listen to that over and over, especially Black Mage Village song :D

10 I really only liked one song (Zanarkand), so I wouldn't say it's my favorite collection of songs.  Is it just me or does it feel like XII's songs are not that...outstanding?  Before when I played FF games, I hear the music and it's so nice it stands out in my mind and such, but when I play FFXII I don't feel compelled to even look up the sound track.. 

Final Fantasy 8 has the best soundtrack in FF series, and actually it may be the second best soundtrack from Square after Chrono Cross

And as you said, Final Fantasy X-2 has the worst 

I'm playing FF6 for the first time ever right now, and I'm really impressed with it. My favorites are 8 and 6, with 7 close behind. 12's weak soundtrack really made me miss Nobuo Uematsu.

As a side note, if Chrono Cross was to be included in this list, it would definitely be at the top, and Chrono Trigger would be 2nd.

FFX by far has the best soundtrack of the entire series followed closely by FFIX. A Fleeting Dream is the best song on FFX. On FFIX I really enjoyed Kuja's Theme.

for me FF10 had the best soundtrack. I liked FF7's soundtrack but then i listen to "otherworld" and nothing competes

IMO, the best is FF X: To Zanarkand, Otherworld, Suteki Da Ne... there are so many great songs.

Besides that, I think most FF have some memorable song (i.e.: FFVII's One Winged Angel and FFVIII's Liberi Fatali). But X stands as the best overall soundtrack.

My least favorite (not the worst as it is not that bad), is FF XII. It has very few remarcable themes (only one I can think of is Esper, and is not that good...). You get to notice Uematsu absence.
