frankly im gettingsick of it , there are hardly any new games commin out , and i havent played on it 4 a month

you should get games that you are good in, cuz if you suck at all games, you don't like the console. That's what happened to me when I kept losing in Burnout Revenge. Also try other games, rather than some shooters or so, what's your genre?

Kingdom Hearts II is a good RPG, then Gran Turismo 4, Devil May Cry 3, and stuff like that.

Anyways, if by any chance you have money, you should sell your ps2 and get ps3. :)

Ps2, is very old, and it have held on very nicely for all these years, better than xbox anyways.

I agree there are lots of good games still coming out 4 the PS2.

It's not the PS2 that's getting boring, you're probably just bored of playing the games you have. I don't think a game needs to be new to be good. There are plenty of good PS2 games, you just have to look for them. I can't think of any games to recommend but you could probably find some by just checking game stores near you.

The ps2 is not dying. It may be slowing down a little but there is still much life in the developers for this console. New games are coming out and I cannot wait!

Okami, xenosaga episode 3,  god of war 2  are just a few.  I think if the ps3 is going to be compatible with ps2 games I'll sell my slimline but if not im keeping it and sticking with the ps2 games coming out.

ive had ps2 for about 4odd years , but this seems to be a very very big drought of games , last year , i dont think is was so bad,

the other fact is that , ps3 is comming out , and some people feel like the ps2 is last gen (well it is after bout 5 years)

I do believe the PS2 is dying but it does still have life in it. I'm probably only going to get Lego Star Wars 2 for it this year. Since I'm not getting a PS3 at launch, I will have time to get any classic games I never managed to get ahold of before when they become all cheap etc. For example, all the Onimusha games, Devil May Cry 2 and 3 (I have the first), Street Fighter Anthology and Anniversary edition.Razoroo

There are a lot of future great games for PS2.

Bully, Yakuza, Okami, FFXII, God of War 2, NBA Live 07, NBA 2K7, Lego Star Wars 2, etc..

Be patient..PS2 will have its final punch before the publishers concentrate for PS3.

The Summer drought is over.

Between now and March 2007, there are about 30 PS2 games coming out that I am interested in.

even though the ps2 will have realy good games released soon, its just some people might be put off because of the ps3 coming out and the xbox 360 , and the nintedo wii

Not at all.  I have about 5 Playstation2 games I've yet to play and I'm excited about getting in to them.  And I'm also waiting for Okami.  Maybe you should try a new genre to kick things up a bit.  Like other posters have said, there are so many classic games that are only a couple of years old to try.  Final Fantasy XII is also coming out in October and I don't expect any housework will get done once I get ahold of that.  Playstation 2 will hang on for quite a long time in my opinion.
