I have had my ps2 for a long time now, and now its decided to just crap out on me.  Whenever I try to play anygame, the browser pops up and says "disc read error."  Any way to fix this?  And don't suggest getting a new ps2, or a ps3, because I'm broke.

Yeah... the cheapest way is probably cleaning the lens.

Now trust me this may sound like it will screw it up more, but open up your PS2 with a screwdriver, I cleaned the eye and it works fine now, give that a shot.

You can try a lens cleaner. Or if possible you can use a q-tip and alcohol to clean the lens.

You could just vacume the vents of the PS2 -- no opening of the machine and free! (it might just be dust on the lens)

well what year did you get it.. Its possible that it may be one of the first bach ps2s that had those errors in them... but I have never had that error unless the disc was severely damaged

Maybe your PS2 lens has finally reached it's limit of usefulness (nothing lasts forever). I recommend you take your PS2 to a PS2 repairman.

If you can get acess to the lens you can try uisng a q-tip dipped in alcohol and rub the lens clean of any dirt/dust.
