I found Reks (ff12) was a whimp and whiny. vann was sum wanna be aladin.
Don't be hatin! I think they are pretty cool characters with quite a bit of depth. Though the japanese developers sure do like to put feminate guys in their stories.mcflurry4321I know but i hate how ppl call tidus a whimp he was cool.

The last 3 FF's have all had femmy guys as their leading characters. That includes Tidus. Don't get me wrong though, I loved Tidus. He was a great character.
Some of the character's personalities just didn't quite suit the game in my opinion. They ought to create a character that fans of the genre can relate to and really wanna play, or be in the driver's seat as. It's the role of the protagonist that is central to a game.
The Reks being a wimp thing went way over my head, but Vaan and Tidus were definately the softest main characters in the series! Vaan pisses me off to no end
I actually enjoyed Tidus and vaan as characters. Sure they werent as "masculine" as other protagonists, but they were well rounded, each with fears and curiosities of their own. There was more depth to them than your average protagonist.
I never felt as if Tidus was wimpy. Throughout the entire game I was totally involved in his character and wanted him to succeed in his goals. I really enjoyed FF-X, but to be honest the ending kinda got me down cause Tidus had to have the guts to save the world despite knowing that by doing so he would cease to exist.
Now Vaan on the other hand, well, yea, he looks like a girl, and yea he's kind of a wimp, but what really bugged me about him is I never cared about him. I felt the story would go on just fine without him and I even felt as if he character had no real purpose for being in the game, but instead was just tagging along. Don't get me wrong, I love FF-XII, it's probably my favorite FF game, but I felt the characters in that game lacked the interest and personalities that really pulls a gamer into the story.
People have a hard time respecting tidus.. whimp or not, the one thing u have to appreciate is that final fantasy games do what most games dont, and thats attempt to display all types of characteristics, Tidus was not whiny or whimpy, The features he had in final fantasy only made him more human, wich is completley respectable. LOL only from american games sghould u expect the Main charater to be all bad ass and fearless with a sleek outfit and accent to match. That just goes to show SE's creativity, deal with it ThreeVo
I agree with that so much. In America it's all "KILL KILL KILL" and everyone and everything has to be all bad ass. It doesn't matter if the character has the personality of a rock, just as long as they kill a lot of stuff and do it well.
That's what's great about FF games. They don't conform and all the junk.
