Killzone wasn't good at all. Even, if you are FPS fan you'll not like it. It's buggy,glitchy and it's not fun at all. Better get Black, Darkwatch or Cold Winter - they are all great !
Killzone was an good game that had an great story, great characters and an great atmosphere. The 'levels' (or however the hell you would say it) are pretty cool but some of the glitches and bugs ruin the game a bit. And, at the least, Killzone has an ENDING >_> (cough Black cough).
I rented the game one time, I found it to be decent at most. The graphics are pretty grainy, but they do give a sort of war feel to the game. My main problem with the game though is how stiff the controls were. The controls require you toposition the crosshairs JUST right to hit the enemy and any degrees off, it's a miss.Meanwhile, some other Helghast is pumping lead into you from behind, hence you will likely die a lot if running and shooting isn't your expertise in gaming. I found it to be a decent game despite the controls, but I don't know if I'll ever have the desire to play it again.
Get the game, its my favorite ps2 shooter, yeah there are glitches and bugs, but nothing that will make you go "wtf!? this is hecka gay!" i love the game, personally, i would recommend renting tho since this game is a love it or hate it type of game it seems
Every site on the hate it, but is it really that bad? would it be worth buiying it now?

Killzone was surprisely good and it's worth to buy even now. And I'm waitnig for postman with my Killzone Liberation for PSP cuz I love ''Killzone war atmosphere'' :)
Killzone is a very buggy and broken game with a unique atmosphere. It could have been good if SONY and the dev's didn't get psyched out by M$ and their Halo 2 nonsense. I bought Killzone the day it came out and was very disappointed. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I hear the PSP Killzone is quite good, though I can't say anything regarding it since I don't own a PSP.

oh and to the TC...get killzone especially if u have online hooked up...and if u dont no biggie...the game has offline multiplayer with bots ...reallly fun

Not worth it in my opinion. I bought KZ last week after seeing the awesome KZ2 trailer and im very disappointed. The sounds are repetitive, you fight the same helghast soldiers 90% of the time, the game is buggy and sometimes crashes, the controls are terrible, and aiming is hard (especially with the sniper rifle). Its pretty much a rushed or unpolished game. I just bought it new on amazon and its rare for me to say that a $15 game is a waste of money. :(
At first it was a little hard to get used to. After tweaking the control sensitivity it was better. By the third level or so I was enjoying the game more than I thought I would. I did have the games freeze up a few times so I had to play the same level like three times but other than that it was enjoyable. It's definetly worth a rental.
