The Slimmy can't play certain games i heard. That's why i haven't bought God of War because supposedly, it can't be played on the slimmy.

Good thing: it's slim, easy to carry, takes less space..

Bad thing: may broke easily...

Good: It's easier to mass produce for the manufacturer as it has less parts to deal with. Built in network adapter means no need for Sony to produce packaging for the old network adapters which equals cheaper production costs. Bad: It's an ugly machine. Still only has two controller slots, you thought they'd find a way to include four so they won't have to spend money to producing multi taps where the production cost is greater than the profit. Cheaper form of construction would also probably lead to poor product reliability. It's too expensive for such a flimsy, ugly thing (it's worth 75 bucks at most). Still no support for HDMI. Literary no performance enhancements, more RAM and higher disc read speed would have been appreciated. No real incentive to get one if you still have a perfectly working 30001-50000 PS2.

is the slim version heated faster than the bulky one? i heard that you can only play the slim ver. like nearly 3 hours, and then you have to shut off to cool it down. where the bulky can be played nearly 6 hours because the bulky have better and bigger fan.

Big fans in the back of bulky ps2 doesn't mean it is more durable than slim...slim will obviously heat up quickly due to slim chassis...the heat will trap but it has fans too. So the heat will come out...I even play for 12 hours or more...still my slim ps2 works well!

I love my slim to pieces. Never, ever, EVER put your disc case on top of the disc drawer while playing a game (as I mistakenly did last year). It puts just enough pressure down on it to push the disc down ever so slightly and rub it up against something down there, causing circular scratches on the disc, rendering it unplayable (circle scratches are FAR worse than a linear one). At least, that was my experience.

GOOD: DOESNT NEED TO BE PLUGGED IN TO EJECT DISK, SMALLER LIGHTER PORTABLE.

BAD: CANT PUT ANYTHING ON TOP OF IT CAUSE THE DISK TRAY OPENS UPWARDS.

the ps2 slim did used to burn out on people, but it looks like sony may have fixed that problem, so the ps2 slim is by far the better choice over its counterpart
