take it from me they're the best!!! These games excel in the storyline more than the graphics so mind this when you're buying these games. And I don't know why gaming sites gave them low ratings on this games but for me you should get it. Who knows, you may even like the game (like me XD)

Atelier Iris is pretty lame. You walk around and fight in 2d kinda of like an old school zelda game. You collect these different elements from around the maps like poison or earth or fire or water.. I kinda forget what you do with them but i think use them to make stuff or to cast spells or something. I think I got pretty far into #2 but i took it back and later I just deleted it from my mem card because i didnt want to waste time finishing it.

.hack GU has a wicked story with wicked graphics that should not be missed. If you have ever played a realmmorpg then you have to play it because thats what the story revolves around. The combat is action based so you wont ever get bored. The first series had worse graphics(by design) and is very different than GU(by design). .hack gets hated on because the combat even though its action based isnt that involved. You just mash away on the sqaure button and when you want to cast magic or pull off a skill you hit triangle and pick it. And the levels and monsters are heavily repeated. And probably the biggest factor is that they are so divided. I mean if you didnt get to play them as they came out then you are really screwed and would have to invest alot of money into playing them again as each disk is sold seperately.

Wild Arms is pretty standard rpg. Your special attacks use different kinds of firearms. The cool part is that throughout the game you can improve your different firearms in different ways. My problem with Wild Arms is just that they are so long and dont have alot of cutscenes. As I only rent games I dont think I ever kept one long enough to beat lol. If I had owned them I probably would have but new games came out and I lost interest in WA. When I did rerent them I had totally forgot what was going on with the story and was completely lost lol. I still think they are worth getting though. They are one of the more interesting standard RPG's you can get. Better than tales or grandia games for sure.

It's more important to find out why people like or dislike a game. Then you can make your own decisions based on whether you think you will enjoy it.

You see, Wild Arms 4 changed the battle system. Some people liked it and some hated it. Wild Arms 5 kept new battle system but improved upon it. Apparently that was enough for Rhen_Var to enjoy it.

As for me, I own Wild Arms 3, but haven't played it yet. I plan to get 4 and 5 as well.

Well as far as Atlier Iris and Wild Arms go I can't really help you I haven't had the spare time or cash to get interested in these two series or Suikoden for that matter...yes I know that is sad. but here is what I think of the dot hack series

Dot Hack: It's a life killer plain and simple. You dungeon crawl constantly through fairly repetitive graphical dungeons. The true pinacle in this series lies in its storyline and characters. Being a Video game based off an MMORPG game called The World, there are many differentjobs and even more different character personalities to choose from to have in your 3 member team. The storyline basically involves an AI virus who sent your best friend into acoma nad with the help of a special item created in the game you battle through at least 100+ hours of gameplay to rescue him and the other comatose players. the only thing you'll dislike about this game is the reptitiveness and the price to buy all 4 installments of the series but with used versions out there now you could probably get them for about 60-70 dollars total.

Dot Hack G.U.: If anybody thought the original was a life killer Dot Hack G.U. takes it up a notch with a much needed graphics facelift and a little more in depth gameplay. YES THERE IS REPETIVITY AGAIN! but it is much much easier to look past this time unless you have played the original series in which the storyline will be a little to similar to begin with in the first game. With avatar battles it gives a new type of battle and the battle system is revamped to make it a little easier to fight without constantly pulling up your menu screen. Also the item system gets a revamp with the ability to alter your weapons and customize them for better moves and strengths. If you're not really sure I'd probably pick up this series before the original because it is a little more pleasing to look at and enjoy.

Both game series won't let you down though.

i'm afraid i'm gonna have to agree with this guy , wild arm's 3 is by far the better looking one in the series . it play's extremely well and it's difficult and fun . it's actually my favorite wild amr's game and i know if you give it try you'll probaly like it .

Wild Arms 3 had a really really boring battle system, one weapon per character through out the entire game, besides the character models the graphics were horrible, the world map was god awful, it's similar to a PS1 Final Fantasy game with about as good as graphics, but the trick is you have to "Search" for towns and dungeons by clicking the square button over and over again... the game has a really HIGH random battle encounter rate, so searching for towns and dungeons with small hints to where they are is annoying, mostly because you could be walking right over the town but it won't show up until you hit square... battles take way way to long..... no voice overs and repetitive storyline, and you fight bosses about a dozen times, on the good side of the things, I loved the Cel shade graphics for the characters and the dungeons were full of puzzles which I enjoy... uh that's about it...

Its been been a while since I've played it, so heres my full review of it
http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/rpg/wildarms3/player_review.html?id=362609

Wild Arms 4 had a fun battle system, platforming elements along with cla ssic puzzle solving, shorter quest (good thing compared to WA3s way to long quest), nice graphics... on the bad side of things, it had a bland storyline, linear storyflow, world map was lame... more complliments and less complaints from me compared to WA3...

My advice is to try the first .hack and see if you like it. If it gets too repetitive for your liking, then don't bother with the others. But at least give it a shot so you can decide for yourself.
