My choice would be the Gta games as they came out on the ps2 first and then later released on other platforms.gaa0c85
Except for the original GTA and GTA 2 which came out on PC first. But if your talking about GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas, then yes i agree with you. A large part of the PS2's success can be put down to the GTA games.
yep that's it. God of War. Because until then the ps2 was the least popular console out of the 3.NEOSPARKINGSimply untrue. The PS2 was the best-selling console since its start. The GameCube and X-Box had to fight for Second Place because catching up to the PS2 was literally impossible. God of War is a late franchise in the PS2's history. (Hell, we just got God of War II this year!) Believe me, my post is much more accurate. ;)
As many has said before. It is not one game or a serie of games that made the PS 2 so great. I belive it was the PS 2 itself that did it. It was a new consol with promises of great gfx and gameplay to come. People just had to see it to belive it back then :PKyuso84

RE4 was first released on the Cube. PS2 stole it sothe gamedoesnt get any credit for making the PS2 a success..
i would say God of War, Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid, and GTA San Andreas.

Your sarcasm meter is low. Interesting tidbit with the PS3, its the fastest selling Sony console on record.
In all honesty it was probably GTA or MGS.... but seeing how I hate both of those franchises, I'll say Final Fantasy X is what made the PS2 a success in my eyes.
Even though I felt other consoles had better collection of games, non of there games could really compare to Final Fantasy X. It was one of my first games on the PS2, and out of the 100 so odd games I owned on those 3 last gen systems, FFX was my favorite game of that generation and is one of the main reasons I hold the PS2 in such high regard today.
