I must say there are a lot of great games out there that as a gamer I can think 'this is what a game should be'. However one stands above the rest in my mind as something that has never been matched or even come close to in or out of the series. That game is Final Fantasy VII. It is in no way perfect, but damn close in all ways. Developers would do well to learn from it. Other games have gone above and beyond in their genres, I'd say the only FF game since would be FF Tactics, by the way, but FF VII takes the cake without a doubt in my eyes.
