well its not a rpg but Front Mission games are good turn-based strategy games, they are similar to SRPG kind. instead of making big armies like in heroes games, you buy items to upgrade your mechas.
Final Fantasy Tactics is ps1 game but its very good. until Disgaea appeared it was number 1 sprg in my opinion so you can check it out.
Suikoden Tactics
Front Mission 3 (yeah, PS1 I know but you have the backward compatibility to use it so, there.)
Final Fantasy Tactics is still the best srpg in my book. Is Square ever coming out with a decent sequel for this game on the PS 2? I read that the PSP version is a glorified remake I don't mind getting.
Suikoden Tactics and Front Mission 4 are alright games in all accounts but do little to maximize the PS2's full potential.I wish they could have added more games for this type of game play like one with horror based strategy or something else out of this world.
There's Stella Deus: Gates of Eternity. As long as you can bear with the mediocre voice-work, im sure you'll enjoy it.xriceballx
The game is mediocre in all aspects not to mention grating at times. Lumena easily tops the "Videogame Character I Would Most Like To Kill" list.
FFT remains the undisputed SRPG for me and sadly if you are looking for them on the PS2 then you are limited for choice. The only other game I can add is Growlanser Generations, a compilation of 2&3. On the other hand there is another Growlanser game coming out very soon, you might want to check that out.
