Since 3d games like Tekken and Soul Calibur are getting popular by the second. What would make 2D fighting games as cool as the debut of Street Fighter 2?
nothing...to me they will always be cool. I like tekken but darkstalkers, street fighter, kof etc will always be in my console so i can play them to my heart's content
Its all up to the developers. If somebody makes a cool 2d fighter then it will be cool. If they all pend their time making 3d fighters then there wont be any cool 2d fighters. Personally I enjoy 3d polygons and a greater sense of movement that is present in 3d fighters.
