it's definately FFX-2

but i hardly consider that a full fledged final fantasy game

aside from that I would say FF9 - had the stuff there it just didnt do it well

I wholly believe that there is no such thing as a *bad* FF. Mediocre or average maybe but not bad.

I hear Dirge is pretty damn bad. X-2 was just stupid though. Only 3 playable characters? WTF!

I passed FFX-2 and it was a good game.  Use the walk-through and you will have all the good stuff and a very funny time.  They transform into summon creatures that are bad ass.  Some of the best action I have seen.   I think Tactics was the best worst FF game because I passed it and it wouldn't let me start over with my stuff.  Every time I tried to complete it again I fight the boss over and over.

Don't be so hard on Mystic Quest. It actually suceeded in everything it set out to accomplish. It was simply and easy to understand for young or first time RPG players. Remember it had a budget price too. I remember it being a full 10$ Canadian cheaper than Final Fantasy II (or IV, whatever you want to call it) when I bought it. Sure, it was easy for anyone who had a played an RPG before. But why play it if you have experience with RPGs? Graphics were good for the time too. Maybe even great?

I never played X-2. I think I have to go with XI for being the worst FF. It should have been a spin-off. A FF without a single player component just doesn't work for me. I guess you might disagree if your a MMORPG fan. But if that's the case, isn't WoW better? FF should be the BEST of it's genre. Not some second rate knock off.

My least favorite would probably be FF5.

Leveling in that game felt way too tedious for me.

I hate X-2! It is terrible. I actually got so stuck I couldn't go forward or back. It was at the one cave with the giant Lizard boss in it. Holy crap, it was sooooooo lame. It kept killing me before I could take like any damage off. It was all that really gay battle systems fault. I mean, it was a crappy cross between real time and turn base. You would be choosing your attacks, but die in the process. Uuuuuuuuggggghhhhhh! So lame.

Isn't that kinda how alot of the Final Fantasy games worked? It sounds like you just weren't very good at the game opposed to it actually being a bad title. I never found FFX-2 to be terribly difficult.

I really hated Final Fantasy 8. "Level up, but don't level up TOO much or we'll make the game unreasonably difficult" I love square, punishing players for playing RPGs the way they were meant to be played, be it 8's leveling system or 12's chest opening shenanigans.

I know every FF games has the option to turn it off. But for some reason, X-2 didn't. I checked alot, and it was nowhere. it just plain sucked. The story was kinda good though.

For me it was IX, I seem to be the only one, but it wasn't on par with the others, the story was too simplistic, I didn't like the method of learning abilities (It worked better on Tactics Advance), it offered very little option to what to learn, you could only learn a pre-made set of abilities. The only saving grace of that game were the sound and the graphics, the rest for me was horrible

What's up with the FFVIII hate? That game was one of the better ones, IMO. Well regardless, I hear Dirge of Cerberus is pretty bad, but worst I've played would have to be FFX-2 or FFT. That's right, I didn't particularly care for FFT. If not those two, then FFIX. I never even got to the last disc with that one...

I didn't like it because:

-The main character is very one-dimenional and emo.
-The love story between him and Rinoa was just plain stupid.
-The junction system is too complicated, especially for new players.
-The battle system is really long and tedious. Sure, it's innovative and all (with the abusable Draw) but if it weren't for the tedious summoning cutscenes I'd probably like the game more.
-And to those who still have ~level 2 weapons, they had to fight enemies to acquire items to forge good weapons. And to kill the monsters easily, you had to summon your GFs, which is long!
-The story is dull.
-The game takes place in New York.

FF X-2.  I bought it right away, I loved FF X and was really excited about it.  It Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked.  The game itself wasn;t HORRIBLE per se, but it seemed like they put very little effort into making it.  It was like taking a tour of FFX because the scenes were the EXACT same... most disapointing.  Dirge of cerberus was weak too.  Like an idiot, I bought it because I was hoping to see some FF7 similarities.  These guys could package a game of PONG into a box that says Final Fantasy on it and idiots like myself would probably buy it.

I'd say FF XII was the most disappointing one of them so far, although it wasn't that bad. But compared to the others, it is mediocre.
