I honestly cant remember, i "think" i played through project zero 1 on easy mode mainly because i had so many recovery items left and the game scared me poo-less in the beginning :D

Depending on the company i have learned that with some devs ya just have to crank up the dificulty by default to get your moneys worth. (Electronic arts comes to mind.)

Never. I play all my games at least at the default difficulty setting, even mid game wen ur dying and so on and ur offered the choice to switch to easy mode I just stick with the normal setting and play until i get it. The reason for this is because I am a completist and like to beat all my games on the hardest difficulty setting and use the normal setting as a kind of prep for the harder difficulties. Also i feel kinda cheap and nooby playing on the easier difficulty settings :S .

I usually stick with the normal difficulty settings, unless I'm having a major problem with the game. Then I suck it up and switch to easy mode.

I ALWAYS use the easiest difficulty available. Im not out to prove to the world how great my gaming skillz are(especially in a single player game, nerds). Its just like watching a movie for me. I just want to experience and then move on to the next.Raising my blood pressure and breaking my furniture doesnt help me enjoy a game any more. If you have to make the game insanely hard to enjoy it then was it really that fun to begin with?? Your just creating you own imaginary hurdle to jump over to get a feeling of accomplishment.

I usually play easy mode when I've already beaten the game and I'm going for a quickie(cause I'm bored). Last one was MGS2(played it once more).

What, easy mode?! -puffs out chest- Pah, never! Hardest difficulty all the way!

Haha, yeah right. I use it a lot more than I'd like to mention.

I'll use easy or normal to get through the story, then go back and do a harder difficulty.

Most of the time I play on normal difficulty and if I play the same game again I will switch to the harder difficulties. Also, if there is a game I am having trouble with I turn to the easiest mode and play through the game and after my first playthrough I bump up the difficulty.

I usually try to start on Normal mode and work my way through. I just put WWE RvS 2007 on easy mode during season because I got tired of getting my butt handed too me and I'm not good with the controls still.

Last game before that was Jedi Knight Academy

Last time I played a game on easy mode was Metal Gear Solid 3. Considering I had never played MGS before in my life, I reckon I did okay.

Exactly (well... except the furniture part :) ). I'll play a game at least the first time through on Easy whenever the option is there.

The cthing is you are pretty much cheating yourselves, Start out on easy and after 3 levels that will be what you are used to. play on normal and after 3 levels that will be what you are used to.
Play through a game completely on easy and the next time you try a game on normal it will seem very challenging to borderline hard.
I prever t start out on the 2nd highest dificulty (meaning normal 99% of the time) because i know it does not lessen my enjoyment and will help me for when a really hard game comes along.

Only playing on easy will only lead to things like abandon's DMC debacle lol

Hmm I think the last time that I fought in easy mode for my fighting games were about nine years ago. Eight years old was when I was playing Killer Instinct. I was pretty young then. But when I want to finish a game real fast... I play on normal mode with cheats on. Hahaha!!!

I understand most of what you're saying, but I don't get how it's cheating myself. I play games to have fun. So as long as I'm having fun, how am I cheating myself out of anything? I'm acheiving my goal. Additionally I may get used to a harder difficulty level if I start on normal instead of easy, but I don't have a lot of time to play. I don't want to irritate myself by having to play for 4 hours (which I don't have) to get through the first 3 levels when I could be having fun doing it in 1 hour. I don't have the time to refine my playing style, and practice practice practice. Dying constantly in a video game is not fun for me. Like Abandon said, I'm not out to prove anything or feel a great sense of accomplishment via a game. I'm just having some fun.

I don't believe in making things dificult just to prove something, and I don't think I'm cheating myself by starting on easy or normal, I think if I start a game on an impossible difficulty setting I'm cheating myself out of enjoying it by getting frustrated and giving up to go a break things. If i don't enjoy the game what the hell's the point playing it? I prefer to go through the game once and then try the harder settings.
