the ffx-2/ffvii battle system or the one from ffxii?
i prefer ffx, in ffxii it was way to easy, you just set up some gambits then left the room or w/e, whereas on ffx-2 and ffvii you have to choose your options and you have to be quick...
I LOVED the battle system in FFX (that's why I think it's the best ff game). I liked how you can swap characters (doesn't that just make sense - why would someonefollow youbutnot help in a fight), the turn based meter which showed you how your moves would effect the timing of the battle.
FFX-2 was such a let down because they reverted the battle system back to the old one.
The active time battle from previous gamesid so obsolete. You wait for your turn and you can't really tell when an enemy would strike. The worst is when the bosses unleash a powerful attack before you can get to your healer's turn. FFXII was boring and it was very similar to ATB - you try to whack the enemy before he whacks you.
I think I read somewhere that the FFX team is handling FFXIII which will have a similar battle system.
