So I'm kinda late in getting my PS2 hooked up online, lol, but now that I have, which online games do ya'll recomend? I like sports and fighting games, and I guess I'll get into shooting games for the online aspect.
None. (Sorry, had to get that out of the way.) The best suggestions I have are SOCOM II (and above) and Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (Which is shutting down very soon). Games to avoid include SSX 3 (and above) and Ratchet & Clank 3.

I agree; I can't endorse PS2's online various services. They weren't set up with a long-term plan in mind, and it shows through many recent events. (The best one being MGS3: Subsistence's shut down.) Finding people to play with on any of the aforementioned games is horribly complicated, due to the lack of people and strict groups. My advice is to stay offline until you buy a next-gen console.
preciate the advice guys. Yeah, i'd figure there'd be lots of people online at least in the sports games... I'm sourly dissapointed there isn't a single fighting game that has online play on ANY of my online systems (PS2, PSP and DS). not any that i know of any way. do you know of any?
