You already posted this thread so dont post another, just bump up your original one. The suggestions you got in your other thread are all good so listen to what those people are saying.
Dragon Quest VIII is great, its not really detailed in terms of story, but it is epic and exciting, in my opinion. If you don't mind the graphics, I suggest playing Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross if you haven't already, both have very detailed and epic storylines and are very cheap to buy now. Also, XenoGears is great if you like mechs and anime-type storylines.
