Oh God not another one. You know what answer you're gonna get on a PS2 board. Especially when it is FACT that Splinter Cell on the PS2 is nowhere as good as on the Xbox, PC, PS3, and 360.2deluxeI have only played MGS and splinter cell on the ps2 thts why i posted it on the ps2 board!!

What he said...
i always had hopes for Splinter Cell to be better but no good, though Conviction now may be a good game
i have all MGS games and SC games and beat them all, MGS is far better than SC
because SC wants to be serious but it fails miserably while MGS offers action too if you want to have fun
in SC, your character wanders around with 4 green light dots on him and stays invisible. lamps cant enlighten more than 15cm around themselves ( even a candle can enlighten whole corridor in reality ). guards with Flashlights walk towards you and still they cant see you. you knock out an enemy infront of his buddy and his buddy is still not sure what happened and while he walks toward you, you can knock him out too. if you started walking on a soft ground which makes no sound but if you continue to walk on broken glass pieces, you still make no noise, i cant say this is a bug because they still have this in SC4. another bug in Chaos Theory though it should not be considered as a bug since its so big; when you opened a metal door it sounded as wooden door !! (this make me think Ubisoft never test their games and actually their games are always the most buggy ones, especially PoP: WW. ) even if you feel your enemy's breath on your face if your stealth meter says you are invisible you are invisible, he cant see you.
if SC wouldnt act like its so serious, yea i would not care that much but while there is a Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell is a failure, though i still have hope for SC5: Conviction because now SC is leaving its failure seriousnesss behind and i think SC4 was better than previous games since it offered you choices while playing.
For sh*t sake please stop making these posts...
The two games ONLY have stealth in common, the contols are so different, among many other things - that you can't make a comparison of which is better. You COULD ask which one people play, but not which is better that's just a dumb question.
LMAO FS, why are you everywhere that I go...oh well. MGS. And I have to disagree SamSmith...What MGS have you been playing?!
METAL GEAR SOLID SPLINTER CELL
STORY 10 9
GAME GRAPHICS 9.59
GAMEPLAY910
CINEMATICS 108.5
FUN FACTOR 910
STEALTH9.58.5
BOSS BATTLES9.5 7
ACTION8.59.5
They are both solidseries' and it all boils down to personal preference. I'm more into action so I'd go with Splinter Cell.
To SamSmith : Just because the game is rated M doesn't mean it sucks. And about ammo running out too fast - just use it carefully.Try to avoid using weapons.Use them as last resort (except in Boss fights.Go ballistic in them)
SC games are fun albeit very linear and slow paced. Not to mention the guards have the most dumbest AI I have ever seen. You really can't compare SC to MGS. MGS is a whole different game.
But I prefer MGS over SC any time even though I played the first SC game to death when it released. (then again, I played the first MGS game to death when I got it lol )
ACTION 8.5 9.5

i understand when you say i prefer SC, but with this reason i cant understand
in MGS, you can either kill anyone or just save them by making them sleep. you can put mines on their path, you can put C4 to blow things up, you can use barrels to blow things up, you can use rocket launcher to have fun, you can play with sniper rifle to hunt them from far, you can break their radios so they cant call backup, you can catch guards and make fun of them with CQC techniques etc. while you can do these as action options, what is more in SC ? please i'm curious about it
in SC, you can use 2 weapons, either make them stunned or killed. after grabbing them you can knock them out AND... wait, is there more ? maybe climbing pipes is fun since it has nothing to do more ?
Action is definitely more in MGS and some people whine about that "its stealth game, you should not be able to do those stuff" because it gives the freedom of choice.
or define "Action" please

Wait. People calling MGS stupid? Lets see you write a dark and complex storyline full of amazing characters and stick complex stealth action gameplay to it. Metal Gear is the single greatest game series of all timefs_metal
Considering one of the 2 has a Pikachu avatar he must have a good taste for games
