Hey everyone
I was wondering about whether i should buy God Of War II?
It's been acclaimed as the swan song of the PS2 and im not sure if it's hype or reality
The thing is though
Im not into the whole gouging the eye sockets of monsters
and stabbing the insides of monsters to see blood spurting from all directions
is there blood on or off button like in Prince of Persia where you can change the blood into sand?
I am into games like Legend Of Zelda: Twlight Princess and love Kingdom Hearts 2.
In the end im not sure whether i should buy the game or worry about missing out..

You answered your own queries. You don't like gouging monsters and all that, and that forms a major part of this game as far as I am aware. Even if it is the swan song, you don't have to force yourself to buy it if you don't play games like it. This game revolves around violence, revenge and fights against the gods, you can hardly have lillies spill out of monsters in a game like this.

God of War 2 is a great game ...... forget about the blood and gore issue and just play it ........ but if you're plannin to get GOW2 , I suggest that you play GOW1 first ..........

Just for get about the blood and violence and just admire the beautiful environment in God of War 2. What i like about this game are:
the puzzles
the battles
the environment
the storyline
the characters
and most important of all the flamy patterns of the swords :) they look AWSOME during large battles.

Its indeed one of the best PS2 titles.

Two years ago i have never heard of a god of war, but then when i bought a magazine with a god of war 2 demo in it i tried it i i was really interrested so i finnaly bought the full game and i also bought the first game which i finished. VPIguana you should really buy God of War 1 and 2, but its up to you if you want to buy it or not :) and in case you buy, GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY IT!

God of War 2 generally seems to be for those enamored with the first game.  If you were unimpressed with the first game, the second one doesn't have anything that will change your mind. Blood spurting is among the flashy tricks that GoW2 relies on heavily, so it might not be for you.  Have you had a chance to try Okami, perhaps?

Thankfully, God of War 2 isn't the PS2's swan song--Persona 3 doesn't come out in US until late July, so it's still a ways out.

Basically, if you don't like blood and awesome kill sequences, then God of War 2 probably isn't for you. Pretty sure there is no blood off switch mainly because there are parts where blood is needed.

Maybe because God of War only came out two years ago. Common sense.

if you don't like violence as much as Ghandi did, you should stay away from this game...

Nevertheless, it's so cool you should see all the blood and violence more as details than somthing that may stop you from playing it....

Maybe if you rent it or borrow from a friend, might solve your doubts
