Why are some PS2 game disc's blue?

I was just wondering that because I have like four games that their disks are blue.

Those are PS2 games that are on CD, rather than DVD.

The only one I have is Shadow Man: 2econd Coming.

Blue backs are cd-rom games.  Silver backs are DVD-5 Single layer games.  Silver/Goldish backs are DVD-9 Dual layer games.

It's bc they weren't hugged enough growing up, teehehe, but yeah it's just a diff format, and they mess up easier.

i was just wondering the same thing. i bought the first time splitters game used from EB yesterday and it was blue.

 anyway the blue ones are the CD-rom ones and are normally those games that were released when the PS2 was first released...

My ICO is blue....blue disks werent even compatible on the early versions of ps2.

yeah the blue disc are cd-roms that were mostly released in the early days of PS2. my ICO and Tekken Tag are blue but Tekken Tag was a PS2 launch title so. i have the slim PS2 and they work fine they just make alot of noise when they are running

Lego Star wars is blue. Its where its burned on to a CD-rom rather than a DVD-rom. therefore its also a noisy blighter on the ps2 and I cant play Lego star wars when either me or my mum have a headache.

they are in cd format this usally appears on older games for ps2 and for some reason lego starwars.
