why wont my dvd play??!?!?!?!?!??!!!!???

i put in jackass 2 which i got yesterday new and i play it now in my ps2 and when the disc starts up the picture gets dark and tints to a red and it skips and blacks out while playing and i dont know what is wrong. and i put the disc in a dvd player and it worked fine so i also put in a dvd in the ps2 and that works fine. what is wrong? and its a slim ps2 i got it this year.
